Gardeners of Cheney meeting

The Gardeners of Cheney meets Monday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sessions Village Center, located behind the Cheney Assisted Living Center. Guests are always welcome.

The Gardeners of Cheney would also like to thank local residents for their support of the club’s annual spring plant sale. Proceeds from the sale help provide scholarships for students in Cheney High School’s agriculture program and in the Spokane Community College’s horticulture program.

Feed Medical Lake

“June is Bustin’ Out All Over” the West Plains on June 9 from 5-6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St. when Feed Medical Lake dishes up your choice of ham and bean or vegetarian bean soup, grilled cheese sandwich, salad, fruit and yogurt. 

CSD public hearing

The Cheney School District Board of Directors will hold a public meeting at 6:05 p.m. during their regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, June 25, for the purpose of fixing and adopting the 2014-2015 school district budget. The regular meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Cheney Middle School, 740 Betz Road.

Cheney Rodeo parade

Registration for the annual Cheney Rodeo Days parade is now open. The parade takes place Saturday, July 12, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in downtown Cheney.

Registration forms are available online at cheneyrodeo.com, or by calling 235-2754 or sending a fax request to 235-6882. Forms may be emailed to answers@cheneyrodeo.com.

Cheney Zips and Owl Pharmacy sponsor the Cheney Rodeo Days parade.

Cheney all class reunion

The Cheney High School alumni reunion is Saturday, July 19. There will be a picnic at Salnave Park from 10 a.m. — 3 p.m. so bring a lunch, a folding chair and a donation. Family, friends and former students are welcome and disabled parking and transportation to the area is available.

Call Cheney Holiday Inn Express at 235-1100 for accommodations. Mention CHS Alumni Association for special rates. Accommodations also available at Peaceful Pines RV Park and Campground, call 235-4966.
