Airway Heights talks waste, equipment and technology

The Airway Heights City Council discussed several items at the April 28 study session.

City Manager Albert Tripp presented the Spokane County Solid Waste Disposal Agreement to the council. Tripp said the county sent out a letter to cities saying that if they want to sign up with their waste management system — which the county takes over in November - they need to pass the agreements by the end of April.

Tripp said the agreement with the county would be for 20 years and is the similar to the one that was established in 1988. He said the county’s figures for tipping fees are still not...
