Ribbon cutting ceremony for the Sheriff's Crime Prevention Office at Spokane Valley Mall

The grand re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Sheriff’s Crime Prevention Office will be held Wednesday, April 30, from 4-6 p.m., at the Spokane Valley Mall.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Valley Police Department and SCOPE (Sheriff Community Oriented Policing Effort) will be hosting the re-opening.

The new office opened Monday, April 7 and is still located on the west side of the mall, but is now on the second floor, just left of the escalators and next to Silver Safari.

The public is invited to come learn about the office and partake in the festivities. There will be information tables, various giveaways, a raffle and refreshments.

At 5 p.m., there will be the ribbon cutting ceremony with Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich and Spokane Valley Police Chief Rick VanLeuven. After the ceremony, there will be presentations by the sheriff and chief, and the mayor of Spokane Valley.

The Crime Prevention Office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guests visiting the office are greeted by SCOPE volunteers. These volunteers come from various SCOPE sub-stations. and donate their time to be available to assist our citizens.

The Sheriff’s Crime Prevention Deputy and SCOPE’s Neighborhood Watch Coordinator also have their offices inside the Spokane Valley Mall location.
