“The Newlyweds” by Neil Freudenberger is the April selection of the Book Discussion Group of the Friends of the Cheney Community Library. The group meets Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. at the library. All are welcome to attend.
The novel tells the story of an American man and Indian woman who meet on an Internet dating site and get married. The challenges for both in adjusting to married life and for the bride leaving her family in India are realistically and skillfully depicted. The sights and sounds of India come to life in a crucial section of the novel.
