As spring begins to bloom, Leslie Smith, owner of Medical Lake Flower Shop inside of Wispies Hair Salon at 112 North Jefferson St., is ready to create several carnations for the season.
Prior to opening her store in 2011, Smith went to business school where she studied floral design. She was also a manager for Safeway's Floral Department in Spokane and worked at Rita Lynch's floral shop.
