The Cheney High boys’ track and field team got its first taste of competition last Saturday at the West Valley Invitational in Millwood.
Junior Brett Wyborney was the only Blackhawk placing in the top 10, finishing ninth in the discus with a throw of 117 feet, 2 inches. The 4x400-meter relay team had the best finish for Cheney overall, placing sixth in 3 minutes, 46.25 seconds while the 4x100 team finished 10th.
