Agreement opens a door to Cheney’s first marijuana production and processing facility, pending permits

The Cheney City Council approved a land sale at its March 11 meeting that will bring the first marijuana facility to the city.

In a 5-1 vote — Councilwoman Jill Weiszmann voted no with Councilman Bob Stockton absent — the council authorized Mayor Tom Trulove to sign and accept a sale of two parcels, with an option on a third, to Bill Youngs and partners for the construction of a marijuana production and processing facility in the city’s Commerce and Industrial Park.
