With the 9th District Position 2 seat in the Washington State Legislature being vacated by Rep. Mark Schoesler who would run for the senate seat, the first candidate to file for the office was Jeff Phelps from Pullman.
Don Mayfield, a Medical Lake reserve officer since 1994, and Jacob Keith, who’s been a fulltime officer for the previous nine months, were named the Police Department’s officers of the year.
Medical Lake’s Garrett Johnson won a third straight state wrestling title in the 215-pound weight class at Mat Classic in Tacoma.
