Drivers hospitalized after SR 902 accident

A West Plains resident and an Arizona driver were taken to the hospital following a two-car collision, Friday, Feb. 14.

According to a Washington State Patrol memo, a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Samantha L. Turnbough, 34, of Medical Lake, was westbound on State Route 902 as a 2014 Ford Escape, driven by Victor Sfera, 25, of Flagstaff, Ariz., was going northbound on Craig Road. The Ford Escape failed to stop and collided with the Suburban in the westbound lanes of SR 902. Both vehicles left the road and collided with the guardrail.

Turnbough was transported to Deaconess Hospital while Sfera was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

The WSP memo listed the cause of the collision as failure to yield right of way, and cited Sfera for such.
