Medical Lake's Ricky Petersen earned this preliminary-round victory last Saturday in the 145-pound weight class at the 1A District 7 wrestling championships in Medical Lake. Petersen remains undefeated this season heading into regional competition Saturday at Freeman High School. Other Cardinals who will compete include Nick Reed (113 pounds), Seth Rojas (126), Mathew Peterson (138) and Ian O'Brien (220). The top four finishers in competition featuring the Caribou Trail League will move on to the state championships Feb. 21-22 at Tacoma....
