Emmanuel Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us this Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. as we celebrate the presentation of Our Lord. Christian education for grade school through adult begins at 9 a.m.

StageWest Community Theater cordially invites you to their winter production of “Perfect Wedding” written by Robin Hawdon and directed by Richard Craven. Play dates are Fridays Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. Saturdays Feb. 1 (dinner theater 6 p.m.), Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. Sundays, Feb. 2 and 9 at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 adult, $10 senior/student, and $25 dinner theater. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

This Sunday, The Presentation of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Last Sunday after the Epiphany. Holy Communion at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preside. Please join us.

Attention college students. Enjoy dinner with us each Monday evening at 5 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Following dinner, we will have a short Bible study and/or worship service. Come and bring a friend.

Choir rehearsals are each Thursday, 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Join us.

United Church of Christ

A short informational congregational meeting on the budget and the governance by portfolios will be held after the worship service Jan. 26.  

The United Church of Christ welcomes everyone to its regular Sunday morning service led by pastor David Krueger-Duncan in the sanctuary at 423 N Sixth St ., starting at 10 a.m. School-age children are urged to attend classes, and preschool children may go to the nursery from 9:45-11:15 a.m.

On Jan. 26, the last Monday of the month, Feed Cheney serves free restaurant-style meals in the Wren Pierson Building and hands out boxes of food between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. For information or to volunteer contact Natalie Tauzin (559-5199 or email natalie.tauzin@gmail.com) or Susan at 999-0850. 

United Methodist Church

It’s “Souper Bowl” Sunday this week at the United Methodist Church and other churches in the community and around the country. On a day characterized by large amounts of money spent on junk food, UMC will collect money for a local hunger prevention program, Feed Cheney.

Worship is at 10 a.m. Sunday morning preceded by Sunday school classes at 9 a.m. The Rev. Terry Hall will lead the worship. The service will once again include Holy Communion.

An evening worship service is offered at 6 p.m. each Sunday. This service is open to all and is conversational in style. Be our guest at either or both services.

Cheney UMC is located at 204 Fourth St. Office hours are 8:15-11:45 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday. For more information about worship or study groups call 235-4600.
