Vehicle fire delays Highway 2 traffic near Airway Heights

Drivers along Highway 2 may have found it difficult to drive home as a truck pulling a spotlight trailer caught fire near O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Airway Heights, Jan. 6.

.According to officials, the Airway Heights Fire Department received a call, at 4:35 p.m., about a reckless driver, after witnesses noticed smoke emitting from the vehicle.

The driver pulled over exited the vehicle to safety as it caught fire. No injuries were reported. The fire had burned through the engine compartment and some of the passenger cab.
