The Airway Heights City Council began their new year by reappointing a familiar face to the council.
During the Jan. 6 regular meeting, the council appointed Kevin Richey as the deputy mayor to the city for another two years. Councilwoman Tanya Dashiell nominated Richey for the position while Councilman Steven Lawrence seconded it. The council unanimously approved the nomination.
Richey had been serving as the deputy mayor since 2013. He has served on the City Council as a councilman. He has previously worked for the Spokane Transit Authority and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
