Safe Routes grant used for education and street projects

Although there were some speed bumps, the Safe Routes grant for Airway Heights continues to make progress.

According to Derrick Braaten, Development Services Director for Airway Heights, the city had to do some resubmittals for the grant. The city looks to go out for bid this month or in February and hopes to start work in the spring.

Braaten mentioned that the grant has already provided over $8,000 in supplies for Sunset Elementary’s Physical Education program and an additional $8,000 used toward the purchase of library and classroom materials.
