Wanda M. (Gober) Heinemann

Mother was born Oct. 31, 1918 in Klamath Falls, Ore. to Marion James Gober and Maxie Myrtle (Pardue) Gober. She peacefully passed away Dec. 26, 2013 at the Cheney Care Center.

She married Fred Heinemann on July 26, 1941. She is survived by three sons: Robert Heinemann of Cheney, Warren (Judy) Heinemann of Livermore, Calif. and Dean (Kerry) Heinemann of Cheney; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.

Wanda graduated from Eastern Washington College of Education (now Eastern Washington University).

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cheney, a 50-plus year member of Martha Chapter No. 60 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Chapter GA PEO Sisterhood, a member of the Tawanka Service Organization at EWCE, a member of Kappa Delta Pi (educational honorary), a member of the Retired Washington State Teachers and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

She started her teaching career in the Seattle public schools and the Helen Bush private school in Seattle. She retired in 1979 after teaching 25 years in Cheney public schools.

We are indebted and send our most sincere appreciation to the dedicated

staff of the Cheney Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at the Cheney United Methodist Church (204 4th Street) Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. Eastern Star and PEO will provide lunch after the service.
