Cheney runners qualify for nationals

Three Cheney members of the Spokane Mercury cross country club have qualified for national competition Dec. 14 out of regional action Nov. 23 at Western Oregon University in Monmouth.

Beckett Schoenleber captured the 9-10 Division Boys title with a time of 11 minutes, 29.22 seconds on the 3,000 kilometer course, finishing just under eight seconds ahead of second-place Maximilian Anderson of North Idaho. Bas Holland finished 10th in the 11-12 Division boys 3K race with a time of 11:00.70 while Samantha Habegger also qualified with a fourth-place finish in the 8 and Under Division Girls 2K ra...
