United Church of Christ

If you read this column regularly, you know that the traditional church turkey dinner was mistakenly announced for Nov. 17. But it actually will be celebrated after church Sunday, Nov. 24. Since turkey, potatoes and dressing will be provided, please bring your favorite side dish of vegetables, salad, bread or dessert to share with all.

Pastor David Krueger-Duncan is planning a Thanksgiving Eve service Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. Mark your calendars for this new event.

At the Cheney United Church of Christ pastor Krueger-Duncan will be speaking at the 10 a.m. Sunday service and all are invited to attend. Child care is provided in the Christian Education building from 9:45-11:15 a.m. School-age children may attend the service with their parents.

United Methodist Church

Please join us for worship this week on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Worship is at 10 a.m. and will be led by the Rev. Terry Hall. The chancel choir delights us every week with special music that enhances the worship experience. Preceding worship are Sunday school classes at 9 a.m.

At 6 p.m. Sunday evening there is another worship service. This service is open to all and is more conversational in style.

Cheney UMC is located at 204 Fourth St. Office hours are 8:15-11:45 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, but will be closed on Nov. 27-28 in observance of Thanksgiving.
