Boy Scouts celebrate 100 years of partnership

Old Pinewood Derby cars escaped from dusty shelves throughout the West Plains, as young and old Boy Scouts gathered Oct. 29 to celebrate the 100-year partnership between the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All BSA troops in the region were invited to gather at the church buildings in Cheney and West Plains to commemorate this achievement.

Members from troops 318, 322, 329, 356, and 381 had a great time racing cars, playing tug of war, looking at Scouting memorabilia, eating hot dogs and many other activities. A live broadcast from Salt Lake...
