CHENEY

Oct. 28

Third-degree theft was reported on the 2700 block of First Street. Beer was stolen.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 1500 block of West First Street. Electronics were stolen from two vehicles at Cheney Public Storage.

A two-car, non-injury collision occurred on the 500 block of Third Street.

Oct. 29

Josia D. Rivera, 20, was arrested for third-degree driving while license suspended (DWLS) on the zero hundred block of G Street. He was also arrested on a warrant from the Spokane County District Court for minor operating a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol.

Second-degree burglary was reported on the 200 block of First Street. A storage unit was broken into.

Devon W. Gilmore, 23, was arrested on warrants from the Spokane County District Court on the 100 block of West First Street. He was arrested for third-degree theft, third-degree DWLS and hit-and-run.

Oct. 30

A purse snatching was reported on the 2600 block of First Street.

Oct. 31

Cheney Police assisted the Washington State Patrol on a driving while under the influence stop on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road.

A suspicious circumstance was reported on the 1400 block of First Street. An owner reported his storage unit was broken into, then realized he was at the wrong unit.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road for unauthorized use of a debit card.

Demetrius D. Dennis, 36, was arrested for third-degree DWLS on the 2300 block of Washington Street.

Fourth-degree assault involving a child was reported on the 300 block of North Seventh Street. The Cheney School District will handle the case internally, and the school resource officer will conduct a follow-up.

Fourth-degree assault was reported at Cheney High School. The school district will handle the incident and the school resource officer will conduct a follow-up.

A disruptive student was reported on the 300 block of North Seventh Street. The school resource officer will conduct a follow-up.

A two-car, non-injury collision occurred on the 500 block of Salnave Road.

Nov. 1

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 100 block of West First Street. A car was damaged.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 800 block of Golden Hills Drive. A backpack was stolen from a vehicle.

Domestic violence/ verbal dispute was reported on the 1000 block of Betz Road.

A 16-year-old female was arrested at Cheney High School for possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 15-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting and minor in possession of alcohol.

Car keys were found on the 500 block of G Street.

A bicycle was found on the 200 block of Washington Street.

Third-degree malicious mischief was reported on the 200 block of Presley Drive. Someone drove on the park grass and spun around.

A driver’s license was found on the 400 block of First Street.

Sean M. Sanders, 21, was arrested for obstructing a public servant on the 100 block of Green Brier.

Spencer T. Shanoltzer, 21, and Shem H. Norton, 20, were arrested for having a loud party on the zero hundred block of North Eighth Street.

Nov. 2

Matthew L. Olson, 25, was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstructing a public servant and resisting arrest.

Prescription fraud was reported on the 2200 block of First Street.

Second-degree theft was reported on the 200 block of South Cheney-Spangle Road. A credit card was taken.

Third-degree theft was reported on the 2700 block of First Street. Alcohol was taken.

Nov. 3

Third-degree theft was reported on the 2800 block of First Street. Gasoline was stolen during a drive-off.

Car keys were found on the 600 block of Elm Street.

Forgery was reported on the 2700 block of First Street. Someone attempted to pass bad checks.

Brendan J. Ren, 21, Christopher J. McGreevey, 21, and Katelyn R. Cashman, 20, were arrested for having a loud party on the 3200 block of Normal Park Road.

Nov. 4

A black Mitsubishi was reported stolen on the 100 block of College Hill Road.

Oct. 28

Money was reportedly taken from a purse on the 400 block of East SR 902.

Oct. 29

Officers took a report of harassment on the 600 block of South Legg Street.

Officers took an informational report of domestic violence on the 1000 block of North Wilcox Street.

Oct. 30

A patient at Eastern State Hospital was arrested for fourth-degree assault after punching a staff member on the 800 block of West Maple Street.

Oct. 31

Officers took a report of a suicidal subject on the 1000 block of North Prentis Street.

Nov. 1

Officers took an assault report on the 800 block of West Maple Street.

Suspicious text messages were reported on the 1000 block of East Campbell Street.

Officers took a residential burglary report on the 600 block of West Fifth Street.

Malicious mischief was reported on the 500 block of East Jim Darby Drive. A fort was broken and a home was egged.

Nov. 2

Officers responded to a report of assault on the 500 block of North Staples Street.

Commercial burglary was reported on the 100 block of East Lake Street.

Nov. 3

Possible client-on-client assault was reported on the 500 block of West Maple Street.

Officers took a report of domestic violence – argument only – on the 500 block of North Brower Street.

Oct. 30

Officers took a report of a hit and run accident on the 300 block of South Aspen Street.

Matthais M. Piggot, 32, was arrested on a warrant for Department of Corrections escape on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

Irena L. Standingrock, 32, was arrested for second-degree theft on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road.

Oct. 31

Dallas E. Tipton, 21, was arrested for third-degree DWLS on Highway 2 and Hayden Road.

Sean A. Martin, 28, was arrested for second-degree theft on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of a juvenile settle on the 700 block of South Ziegler Street.

Officers took a burglary report on the 12400 block of West 18th Avenue.

Nov. 1

Officers took a report of an explosive device on the 1200 block of South Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of third-degree DWLS on Ninth Avenue and Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of a domestic dispute on the 12500 block of West Highway 2.

Officers took a report of a missing person settle on the 12400 block of West Frank Street.

Eric Oritiz was arrested for second-degree assault - domestic violence - and violation of a domestic violence no contact order on the 12400 block of West Frank Street.

Officers took a report of a juvenile runaway on the 700 block of South Ziegler Street.

Travis W. Talley, 37, was arrested for fourth-degree assault on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of counterfeit money on the 10500 block of West Sunset Highway.

Officers took a report of second-degree malicious mischief on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.

Officers took a report of second-degree theft on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

Officers took a report of a suicidal subject on the 1300 block of South Ziegler Street.

Officers took a report of a recovered stolen vehicle on the 10600 block of West 12th Avenue.

William O. Jones, 41, was arrested for second-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine - on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

Thurman T. Cochran, 22, was arrested for third-degree theft – shoplifting - on the 12800 block of West 14th Avenue.

Officers took a report of fraud on the 2100 block of South Garfield Road.

Officers took a report of counterfeit money on the 13200 block of West Highway 2.

John A. Everitt, 45, was arrested on four warrants for failure to appear - theft - on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.

Lance A. Holman, 43, was arrested on two warrants for failure to appear on charges of fourth-degree assault - domestic violence - and a warrant for violation of a no contact order - domestic violence - on the 100 block of North Hayford Road.
