Free ML meal is Nov. 11

Feed Medical Lake offers two meals in the “Giving Thanks” month of November. Monday, Nov. 11, Feed Medical Lake thanks our veterans for defending our freedom. There will be a menu of French bread pizza, salad, fruit and yogurt. 

Monday, Nov. 18, we give thanks for all our blessings with a menu of meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy as well as peas and carrots. Both nights will have beverages, desserts and door prizes, and are held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St., from 5 - 6 p.m. All are welcome. If anyone has questions, call Joanna at 714-1150.

Fetsch speaks on gardening

The Gardeners of Cheney is inviting the public to come hear expert Candy Fetsch speak about garden art to decorate your garden at its monthly meeting, Nov. 11. The club meets at the community meeting room of Sessions Village, behind the Cheney Care Center at 6:30 p.m.

Bingo, auction is Nov. 15

Salnave Elementary School’s Turkey Bingo and Silent Auction is Nov. 15 from 6-9 p.m. in the school gym. Bingo cards are $5 for 10 games and $1 for the grand basket game held at the end of the evening.

There are door prize drawings between bingo games for turkeys and other prizes. At the silent auction tables will be an team-autographed EWU football, four Shock game tickets, Chiefs hockey tickets, handmade art and lots of gift certificates from various businesses.

The event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased day of event at the door. All proceeds go to the needs of Salnave Elementary School children.

Closures for Veterans Day

All Spokane County Library District facilities will be closed Monday, Nov. 11, to observe Veterans Day. SCLD online services remain available throughout holiday closures. Regular hours resume Tuesday, Nov. 12.
