A Taves vote is for quality, honesty

Letters to the Editor

In the Cheney City Council race, a lot has been made of my dad’s professional experience and his résumé, which are both excellent. As his daughter, I have a slightly different view of my dad.

He is one of the most patient, hard working, honest and generous people I know. He is levelheaded and careful and is an all around awesome person, father and grandfather. Throughout my life he has always been there for my family and me.

One of the things I learned from my dad that has served me well in life is his frugality. He always taught me to spend within my means. Another is to be detail-oriented and never to sign something I have not read.

Since he was appointed last year to the city council, I have seen him dutifully study each page of several-hundred-page budgets as well as countless other documents. He really cares and wants to get it right. I don’t have time to do that, like my retired father, so I am glad that I can count on him to pay attention to the details and spend our hard-earned tax dollars wisely.

As a conscientious voter, he keeps me informed on the issues, both through constructive debate and research. When I asked his opinion on things he gives me very well thought out and logical responses.

In return, he listens and considers my opinions, taking the new information into account and adjusting his views as necessary. He is easy to talk to and tries to address concerns from his constituents in a thorough and timely manner.
