Mardell Irvin (Ostrum)

Mardell Irvin (Ostrum) was born Sept. 2, 1931 to Emma and Cornelius Ostrum in Roscoe, Mont. She passed away peacefully on Sept. 24.

Mardell graduated from high school in 1950 and married Darrell B. Irvin in Aug. 1956. She was a loving Army wife, mother, sister and friend to all she knew. Her greatest joys in life included her faith, her family and her football.

Mardell’s enthusiasm for life was a lesson to us all in how to live our lives. Mardell’s three grandchildren were her ultimate pride and joy. She lived her life as a legacy of love, love for others, love for her family, her faith and life. She taught us how to be strong, how to carry on and most importantly, how to love one another.

Mardell was a devoted member of her church and community, including Diakonia, Beta, Eastern Washington University and many other treasured groups and organizations throughout her life.

Mardell was a generous and giving soul who will be missed dearly by us all. Mardell is survived by her husband Darrell; her sons Mark Irvin (Stacy), Matthew; daughter Michelle Irvin Giddens; and grandchildren Payton, Connor and Kyleigh. She is also survived by her sisters Darlene and Ginger; sister-in-law, Yvonne, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
