There's dirty work afoot at Ye Olde Wayside Inn, home of the eccentric Saltmarches, Hepzibah and Arabelia, cousin Ebenezer, and old Uncle Silas the oldest living lunatic in Massachusetts.
The inn is haunted by the ghost of an old soldier who deserted Washington at Valley Forge while foul weather turns cousin Ebenezer grim and dangerous and he lures victims to the inn to get revenge for a past wrong. So when a storm forces several strangers to take shelter at the inn, the chilling – or is it killing? – time begins and not everyone is what he or she appears to be. Who will survive this dark and stormy night?
Such is the situation in “It was a Dark and Stormy Night,” StageWest’s fall production, written by Tim Kelly and directed by Cheney’s Charles Kenfield.
Performances are Friday and Saturday nights Oct. 11-12, 18-19 and 25-26. All performances except Saturday Oct. 26 start at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 there will be a New England Theme dinner theater that starts at 6 p.m.
There will also be two Sunday matinees Oct. 13 and Oct. 27, both at 3 p.m. All performances are at Emmanuel Lutheran Church located at 639 Elm St. in Cheney.
