Cheney Gardeners Oct. 14

Did you ever wonder just how to get bulbs to flower in your home in winter? Master Gardener Steve Nokes will tell the Gardeners of Cheney about using kits for “Container planting of spring bulbs for winter enjoyment.”

Guests are welcome to the meeting and speech at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Sessions Village Community Room, 2219 N. Sixth St. behind the Cheney Care Center.  

Feed ML serves two meals

Feeling the pinch of the government shutdown? Feed Medical Lake is serving two meals Oct. 14 and 28, both free and with free groceries and door prizes. The meal site is St. John’s Lutheran Church, 223 S. Hallett St. We’ll be serving from 5 – 6 p.m.

Menus include honey barbecue chicken wings, spinach, potatoes, and brownies on the 14th, and ham and scalloped potatoes, green beans, and pudding on the 28th. For those with questions, call Joanna at 714-1150.

ML book club meets Oct. 14

The Medical Lake Friends of the Library will be discussing “Where’d You Go, Bernadette?” by Maria Semple, Monday, Oct. 14.

Book Club starts with a social hour and refreshments at 12:30 p.m. followed by a book discussion at 1 p.m. SCLD will be providing a discussion leader. Everyone is welcome.

The club meets at the M.L. Library, 321 E. Herb St. Call 893-8330 for directions.
