CHS' Williams on All-State

Cheney High School junior Keenan Williams has been named to Ron Siegel’s Preseason Scouting and Research All-State team for the class of 2015. The selection was made for the website Scout.com and was originally published on FoxSportsNext.com Aug. 19.

Williams, a 6-foot, 3-inch 245-pound defensive lineman, was one of 17 football players picked to Siegel’s first- and second-team senior squad and the junior team. He joins four Greater Spokane League players on the list: Class of 2014 first team offensive lineman J.D. Boden (Central Valley), first-team defensive back Cole Karstetter (Ferris), second-team offensive lineman Johan Jordan (Mead), class of 2015 quarterback Brett Rypien (Shadle Park) and linebacker A.J. Layson (Mead).

Overall, 88 players were selected to the six teams.

According to the news release Siegel is a member of the Pacific Northwest Football Hall of Fame, and has been putting out All-State teams for the state of Washington for 33 years. He is known as the “Man who knows where they are” because of his ability to put together comprehensive lists of the top seniors and juniors in the Evergreen State.
