St. Paul's Episcopal Church

All are welcome. We are a welcoming haven, nourishing all God's people in body, mind and spirit.

This Sunday is the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost. Holy Eucharist is at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside. Child care is available.

Our best wishes to all students for a nourishing, adventurous summer with family and friends.

Narcotics Anonymous meets in the Parish Hall each Tuesday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Join us for good food, fellowship and discussion. Come and bring a friend.

For your contemplation: "I dwell in possibility a fairer house than prose, more numerous of windows, superior of doors. Of chambers, as the cedars – impregnable of eye; and for an everlasting roof the gables of the sky. Of visitors – the fairest – for occupation – this – the spreading wide my narrow hands to gather paradise." Emily Dickinson.

St. Paul's is located at 625 C St. on the edge of EWU campus.

United Church of Christ

Just as a couple other churches have done earlier this summer, the Cheney United Church of Christ takes responsibility for the Feed Cheney dinner on Aug. 26, and congregants are signing up to contribute food and volunteer their time. Last month 119 guests were served at the dinner and grocery distribution.

Second Harvest provided 905 pounds of groceries and 125 pounds of tomatoes, and private donors contributed 116 pounds of shelf-stable groceries. To help out, contact Natalie Tauzin (559-5199) or email Natalie.Tauzin@gmail.com. The dinner will be served at the city park across the street from the Wren Pierson building.

At the United Church of Christ pastor David Krueger-Duncan will be speaking at the 10 a.m. worship service, and all are invited to attend. Child care is provided in the Christian education building from 9:45-11:15 a.m. School-age children may attend the service with their parents.

During the fellowship time after church, friends new and old will chat over refreshments.

United Methodist Church

The UMC Birthday Bunch will meet at the Longhorn BBQ in Airway Heights on Saturday, Aug. 17. The no host breakfast begins at 9 a.m.

Worship with us at the United Methodist Church as we gather each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. The Rev. Terry Hall leads the service. Prior to the worship hour this Sunday there will be one final Vacation Bible School planning at 9 a.m.

Our exciting Vacation Bible School week begins Sunday Aug. 18. “Paul’s Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth” is the theme for the event that runs each evening through Aug. 22. This is a multi-age program for the whole family beginning with a planned potluck meal at 5:30 p.m. followed by songs, study, games, crafts and the marketplace. You won’t want to miss this fun, educational, intergenerational activity.

Cheney United Methodist Church is located at 204 Fourth St. For additional information about the church please call the office at 235-4600. The church office is open 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday each week. You can also visit us online at cheneyumc.org.
