United Church of Christ

Summer activities and improvements are in full swing at Cheney UCC. First, the improvements: the recent rainy days have been snug and dry in the building, due to recent roof repair, and our parking lots are freshly sealed and painted. Kudos to both the leaders of these efforts and to the congregation for its support.

One of the regional UCC’s hidden treasures is the beautiful Camp N-Sid-Sen on Lake Coeur d’Alene. Church staff and members spent a week working on improvements to that facility, specifically by building four new wooden benches that convert into picnic tables.

During the summer several children and youth from the congregation will attend summer camp at N-Sid-Sen, in sessions from July 7 to Aug. 10. Their fees are subsidized by generous contributions from the church towards camperships, so that any child who wants a camping experience will be able to attend.

Cheney UCC welcomes all to its regular Sunday morning service at 10 a.m. Nursery care is provided for children under five. A fellowship hour follows each service, in which the congregation gathers and gets to know visitors. We are a warm and welcoming church.

United Methodist Church

Please join us for worship this week at the United Methodist Church. Worship is at 10 a.m. and will be led by the Rev. Terry Hall. Being a fifth Sunday of the month, this week will be a service Sunday. There will be a shorter worship time followed by the opportunity to provide services as needed to church members or others. Come prepared to serve. Preceding the worship hour there will be VBS planning at 9 a.m.

Cheney UMC is located at 204 Fourth St. For additional information about the church please call the office at 235-4600. The church office is open 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday each week. You can also visit us online at cheneyumc.org.
