Cheney Community Church

Cheney Community Church continues to celebrate its Jubilee year (1963-2013) with a focus on youth ministry for the month of June. The youth group will host a barbecue and bunco game night on Saturday, June 15 at 4 p.m. A fun time for all. The youth group meets each Friday evening at 6 p.m. and recently participated in a challenging scavenger hunt.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is scheduled for the week of July 8-12, 9 a.m. to noon. Children 3-11 years are sure to enjoy the “Son Harvest County Fair: “Growing the fruit of the Spirit.” There will be Bible stories, games, music, crafts and snacks. VBS is open to all families in the community. There is no cost for registration. Call 509-235-4841 for information.

Cheney Community Church is located at 1307 First St. Our Sunday worship service is 10 a.m. Nursery care and children’s church are provided. Come join us!

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Join us for worship Sunday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost. Christian education for adults begins at 9 a.m.

A “two-site” Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21. “Live Love(d)” will be the theme for this year’s program. The Lutherhaven staff will lead the children through a week of learning, games, crafts, and activities. Emmanuel Lutheran Church will host children who will be entering grades 1-6 this fall. A daily sack lunch will be needed as our VBS hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. St. Rose Catholic Church will host children ages 3-5 Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Registration forms are available at Emmanuel Lutheran Church located at 639 Elm St. on the window by the front doors. Please fill out one form per child you will be registering. St. Paul's Episcopal Church

All are welcome. We are a welcoming haven, nourishing all God's people in body, mind and spirit.

June 16 is the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost. Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside. Child care is available.

Narcotics Anonymous meets in the Parish Hall each Tuesday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. Fellowship breakfast is each Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Join us for good food, fellowship and discussion. Come and bring a friend

United Church of Christ

All are welcome to the 10 a.m. worship service led by pastor David Krueger-Duncan in the sanctuary located at 423 N. Sixth St.

School-age children are invited to attend the service through the Children’s Minutes. Children (age 3 to grade 8) may go to the nursery from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. or sit with their parents.

Committee heads and others wishing to submit articles to the church newsletter, please do so by the “Table Talk” deadline this week.

United Methodist Church

Saturday morning, June 15, the United Methodist Church Birthday Bunch will go to the lake. Their monthly no-host breakfast will be held at the Picnic Pines Resort at 9 a.m. and will honor June birthdays.

Bring dad to church for Father’s Day this week at UMC. Worship is at 10 a.m. Sunday morning. Carol Kriegh will be bringing the morning message while pastor Terry Hall is at the church’s annual conference. Sunday school classes are in recess for the summer months. Following worship please stay for fellowship time as we enjoy “Pies for Guys” in honor of Father’s Day.

There will be no evening worship this week, but mark you calendars for Sunday, June 23, when “His Song” will join us at the 6 p.m. service.
