Medical Lake’s girls’ tennis team ended last week’s return to competition with a pair of close non-league losses, 4-3 to West Valley last Tuesday and 3-2 at Lind-Ritzville-Sprague Thursday.
The Cardinals did well in doubles’ play at home against West Valley winning two of three sets but stumbled in singles play with just one victory in four sets.
Becky Nix and Rachel Hansen scored a 7-6 (7-2), 4-6, 6-2 win in No. 1 doubles while Katelynn Houger and Sandra Layam won 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3. Annette Carlson won a 6-4, 7-6 (8-6) decision at No. 3 singles.
