Arakawa earns second Big Sky AOW honor

Jordan Arakawa of the Eastern Washington University men’s track and field team was selected as the Big Sky Conference men’s field athlete of the week for the week of April 16 after his performance in the hammer throw at the UNLV Randall Cunningham Invitational on April 12 in Las Vegas, Nev.

After breaking the 200-foot plateau for the first time in his career two weeks earlier at the Al Manuel Invitational, the Olympia, Wash., native eclipsed the 210-foot mark in the hammer with a winning toss of 211-1 in Las Vegas.

He was also honored as the conference’s field AOW April 2.
