A time-honored stage and big screen classic is up next on StageWest Community Theatre of the West Plains’ performance schedule. “Arsenic and Old Lace” by Joseph Kesselring and directed by Kay Byron Pacheco begins a three weekend run Friday, April 26 and concludes Sunday May 12.
The entire play takes place in the living room of the Brewster home. Sisters Abbey and Martha Brewster are two charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar, with the help of their nephew Teddy who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt, with the remains of socially and religiously “acceptable” roomers. With the antics of two more nephews, this play requires no further description except to say you will not want to miss this hysterical and fast paced play.
The cast consists of Judy Gross, Melinda Reid, Kate Knox, Tom Crick, Lauren Bathurst, Phil West, Gregory Knox, Donna Neubauer, Emily Snow, Arthur (AJ) Burton and Jalesa Austin, some of whom regular StageWest patrons are familiar with and some new to the theatre group.
StageWest is also offering a High Tea to be held during the last show on Mother’s Day. The tea will be catered by The Mason Jar, and is reservation only, which must be made no later than May 6. Ticket prices for this show with the tea are $25 per ticket.
Ticket prices for any other show are $12 for adults and $10 for senior and students. Show Friday and Saturday show times April 26-27, May 3-4 and May 10-11 are at 7 p.m. Sunday matinees April 28 and May 5 are 3 p.m., with the May 12 High Tea time at 2 p.m. sharp, with curtain rising at 3 p.m.
Tickets for the High Tea performance are available at Owl Pharmacy or by calling Kathleen at 235 2441. StageWest now accepts Visa and MasterCard.
