Bea (Beatrice Marie) Bland

Our loving wife and mother is free and at home in peace and wholeness. Bea (Beatrice Marie) Bland passed away Jan. 22, 2013 in the presence of her husband and her son and daughter at The Hospice House of Spokane.

She was born Nov. 3, 1930, and was married to and survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert (Bob) Bland. She is also survived by her son, Gene Bland (husband of Deanna) of Colbert, Wash. and her daughter, Shirley Bland of Trinidad, Colo.; her grandson, Marty Bland (husband of Tana) and granddaughter Tricia (wife of Matt) Kinder both of Spokane; four great-grandchildren: Eli, Luke and Ava Grace Kinder and Liberty Illiana Bland.

Bea resided in Spokane and the surrounding vicinity her entire married life. For the past 32 years she enjoyed life on “the ranch” surrounded by the beauty of nature. She was a devoted follower of God. She loved her husband and family most of all, but also loved flowers (gardening), her horses and riding, cooking and company.

She delighted in every gift, large and small – playful kittens, the presence of wild birds or visiting deer or the occasional curious moose, colorful sunsets, the nuzzle of the family dog and so much more. She was an amazing wife and mother, a loyal friend; a generous, kind and safe haven for many a dispirited or lonely soul. Her family will miss her every single day, but we take comfort in her freedom from physical limitations and suffering. A memorial service was held Jan. 30 at Medical Lake’s Lake City Assembly of God Church.
