StageWest Community Theatre of the West Plains is changing its performance schedule. The performance intended for this month, “Way Out West In A Dress or Life is a Hurdle when Your Wearing A Girdle,” is being changed because of the inability to cast all the parts, especially some of the essential lead roles.

Instead, StageWest will present “An Evening of Sketches by Carol Burnett,” directed by theatre veterans John Brooks and Richard Craven. These skits are some of the extremely funny ones that Burnett performed in her popular, live 1970s television show.

Also StageWest is reintroducing its dinner theatre, which will be held Saturday Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 639 Elm St. in Cheney. Cheney’s Willow Springs Restaurant will cater the dinner. Seating is limited to 40 patrons so it is advisable to get reservations by no later than Jan. 25 by calling Craven at 509-768-2150.

The dates of the Burnett skit performances are Jan. 25-27 and Feb. 1-3 and 8-10. The times on Fridays and Saturdays are 7 p.m., with the dinner Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. Sunday performances are at 3 p.m.

Costs for the shows will be adults $12, seniors/children $8. The dinner theatre (dinner plus the show) is $25 per ticket. Attendance for the dinner theatre is presale tickets only.

StageWest is also now able to accept all major credit cards.
