The Medical Lake Friends of the Library Book Club will be discussing “Little Bee” by British author Chris Cleave. “Little Bee” is the selection for the 11th annual Spokane is Reading event, Friday, Oct. 12.

Chris Cleave will be in Spokane and give two presentations about the book. One will be at the Garland Theater at 1 p.m. and the second at the Lincoln Center at 7 p.m. Spokane is Reading’s website states: “We don’t want to tell you too much about this book. It is a truly special story and we don’t want to spoil it.” Most of the story is quite humorous as characters from two cultures make contact and learn together.

The Monday, Oct. 8 Book Club starts with a social hour and refreshments at 12:30 p.m. followed at 1 p.m. by the book discussion. Everyone is welcome. The club meets at the M.L. Library, 321 E. Herb St. Call 893-8330 for directions.
