Sharon Greene Patton

April 18, 1939-May 11, 2012

Sharon Greene Patton, beloved by her family and friends, passed away in Concord, Calif. at the age of 73.

She was the great-granddaughter of prominent and early Cheney resident Frank Clark Greene and granddaughter of F. Clarke Greene, a resident of Benge, Wash.

Sharon was born in Pasco, Wash. to Frank T. Greene and Lillie M. Greene. Being part of a large family, Sharon enjoyed the company of her siblings, Beverly A. Boyes of Auburn, Wash., Diane M. Mackey and Deborah D. Green, both of Spokane, Wash, Sue Orloff of San Ramon, Calif. and a brother, Greg R. Greene of Seattle.

She attended Marshall Grade School and graduated from Cheney High School in 1957. She attended the University of Washington before moving to San Francisco and obtaining her master's degree. She taught English at San Francisco State and was a published author.

Sharon loved reading, playing cards with her family, movies and politics. She will be remembered for her intelligence and incredible sense of humor.

Sharon is survived by her husband James M. Patton and daughter Kate Amanda Patton. A celebration of Sharon's life was held June 23, 2012 in Antioch, Calif., including family and many friends.
