Cheney High School's DeAngelo Jones will get another opportunity to showcase his basketball wares on the hardwood.

The Blackhawks senior guard has been selected to play in the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association All State Game, to be held March 20 at Mountlake Terrace High School. This game includes B, 1A/2A, and 3A/4A All-State players from all over Washington.

Jones played in all 21 games for Cheney this season, leading the team in scoring with 411 points, averaging 19.57 per game for the season. He ranked second on the team in rebounding with 7.5 boards per game, and second in assists with 3.0 per game.

Cheney head coach Ryan Fitzgerald said Jones was the consummate team player for Cheney, doing the little things that don't always show up in the stats to help the Blackhawks to a 13-8 overall record, 9-5 in Great Northern League play and a fifth seed in the league playoffs where they lost to West Valley in the first round.

“To say he has been a joy to coach would be an understatement,” Fitzgerald added.
