WSU Extension offering forest health field day on Aug. 15

What exactly is a healthy forest? How do you know if your forest is healthy?

How can you prevent your forest from becoming unhealthy?

The Washington State University Extension office in Spokane may have some answers in an upcoming workshop/field day. In this forest health workshop, participants will learn about the insects and diseases that affect a forest's health. They will learn to recognize forest health problems and how to manage a forest so that it maintains a healthy condition.

The daylong event is on Saturday, Aug. 15, in Spokane from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program is both indoors and outdoors in the field. The cost is $20 per family or ownership, and pre-registration by Wednesday, Aug. 12, is required. To receive a brochure, call WSU Extension at 509-358-7960. Please direct questions to Janean Creighton at 509-477-2199.

The WSU Extension Spokane office is located at 222 N. Havana St.
