Four members of the Mountain View Gymnastics Boys Competitive Team – which features local youths – competed at the state boys meet in Lacey, Wash., recently.

The Level 4 team, coached by Michael Freeman, faced over 100 of the best gymnasts in Washington state. The gymnasts competed in floor, pommel, rings, vault, parallel bars and high bar, in addition to best all-around.

Dakota Bauge of Cheney Middle School took second in the all-around in his age bracket, in addition to second place in the high bar; fourth in the pommel, vault and P-bars; fifth in the rings; and 14th on floor.

Josh Bradley, also of Cheney Middle School, placed third in all-around, with second-place finishes in P-bars and high bar; third place on floor and vault; seventh on rings; and ninth on pommel.

Justin Sadowski, who attends Medical Lake Middle School, placed first in vault, fourth on pommel, fourth on floor, fifth on rings, seventh on pommel and high bar, and sixth in all-around.

Trevor Yamane, who also attends Medical Lake Middle School, placed third on vault, seventh on pommel, eighth on the floor and ninth on rings, P-bar, high bar and all-around.

The gymnasts are now working on learning new skills for the next competitive season in the fall, Freeman said.

Mountain View Gymnastics is located in Airway Heights and has both girls and boys competitive teams, as well as recreational gymnastics classes.
