Mat Hawks get 41 medals from Riverside, Pomeroy meets

The Cheney Mat Hawks traveled to the first two of five Washington Little Guy Wrestling tournaments of 2007.

On March 10, approximately 55 Mat Hawks traveled to Riverside to compete with 350 athletes from other local communities. After a very long day, 23 of them came home with medals.

Here are the results, broken down by age brackets:

5-6: Bronze—Bas Holland.

7-8: Silver—Jackson Shaw. Bronze—Jacob Kautzman.

9-10: Gold—Ryan Gerard, Eric Gilmour, Noah Ziemann. Silver—Tyler Gladden, Connor Pratt, Tristen Wacholtz. Bronze—Austin Kline.

11-12: Silver—Curtis Atchison, Trae Martin, Elias Mason, Sam Pegg. Bronze—Hunter Pederson, Tyler Pratt.

13-14: Gold—Joshua Bradley, Logan Huckins, Duncan Rhoades. Silver—Bryce Crooks, Michael Hartley, Justin Ward. Bronze—Dakota Mauzay.

In the second of five Washington Little Guy Wrestling tournaments, 25 Mat Hawks ventured south to Pomeroy on March 17 for competition, with 18 earning medals.

Gold medals went to Austin Kline and Elias Mason. Silver medals went to Curtis Atchison, Bryce Crooks, Tyler Gladden, Tristan Lening, Hunter Pederson and Sam Pegg.

Bronze medals went to Brandon Leonard, Dustin Leonard, Keanu Niezwaag, Brannon Pederson, Garret Pederson, Duncan Rhoades, Vern Sanderson, Jackson Shaw, Jared Tso and Justin Ward.
