    Students from the Cheney area have been named to the Dean's List at the University of Washington and Eastern Oregon University for the winter quarter, 2009-2010. Principals from the Great Northern League schools nominated Gresch, and the board of directors for District 7 awarded him the annual honor.     Dorothy Jacobsen, age 69, of Spangle passed away April 28 in Spokane. Dorothy was born April 17, 1941 in Spokane to Franklin E. and Flora A. (Watts) Degon and was a graduate of Spangle High School, class of 1959. She was married to Alvin O. Jacobsen on July 16, 1965. Dorothy worked at Sacred Heart Hospital from 1959 to 1967 and also had an in home daycare for 30 years in the Spangle area.
