    The city of Airway Heights is getting ready to make way for their new CXT restroom facility and splash pad at Sunset Park. The City Council approved the purchase of the facility at the July 21 meeting. The Public Works department opened a trench in the area of the park near Lawson Street to install sewer and water pipes for the restroom.     Gladys L. Dunn went home to be with her Lord and daughters, Anita and Laura on Sept. 1, 2014. Gladys was born to James and Gladys Clay on June 17, 1927, at Fort Smith, Ark. Gladys grew up out in the country just outside of Fort Smith as an only child. Her constant companions were her dog and her horse. She was affectionately called “Snookie” by her friends and family. Bert was born June 30, 1922 in Tokio, Wash. to Charles and Anna (Yager) Conrath and was a graduate of Sprague High School, class of 1940. Bert served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a mechanic and engineer on B-25 bombers. After the war, he returned to Cheney and was married to Patsy Clute in 1948.
