    CHENEY July 24 Officers responded to a call of domestic violence on the 1000 block of West First Street for a verbal dispute. Officers investigated a call for an illegal burn on the Zero hundred block of West Fifth Trespassing was reported on the 700 block of Cedar Street.     As summer blazes on and our minds frazzle in the heat, the Better Business Bureau of the Northwest warns that con artists are plotting to target consumers looking for the best travel deals. Consumers across the Northwest reporting to BBB Scam Tracker have lost an estimated $50,000 to nearly 300 travel scams in the past year. Of those scams, 152 were reported from Washington with over $5,000 lost and nearly $8,000 attempted from scammers.     Gubrud, Tiuli named to STATS All-American team Eagle quarterback Gage Gubrud and defensive tackle Jay-Tee Tiuli have been named to the STATS NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Preseason All-America Team announced July 31. Gubrud, who finished third in the voting for last year’s Walter Payton Award presented by STATS, was a second team choice behind 2016 Payton winner Jeremiah Briscoe of Sam Houston State.     The Spokane Cannons’ AAA American Legion season came to a close July 25 when Lakeside Recovery pushed across six runs in the game’s final three innings to earn a 9-4 victory.
