    Kaufman signs with B.C. Lions Former Eastern Washington University All-America wide receiver Brandon Kaufman agreed to terms with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League on June 3 and joined the team immediately at its preseason training camp, now underway in Kamloops, B.C.     A team of 11 students from Cheney High School’s sports medicine program recently placed in the top-five in the nation in their school-size classification in the third annual American Academic Competition Institute’s (AACI) National High School Sports Medicine Championships.     The Cheney SummerHawks AA American Legion baseball team avenged a loss, June 6, by picking up a 10-7 win over Lakeside. After Lakeside scored in the first inning, the SummerHawks started their rally in the second. Chance Gleave hit a double to bring in the first Cheney run.
