Greyhounds race past Blackhawks

CHENEY – Pullman dominated the competition in a Jan. 20 swim meet against Cheney at the Eastern Washington University Aquatics Center winning 10 of the 12 events for a 286-124 victory.

Cheney did win the 100-yard breaststroke, sweeping the top three spots led by Artem Sokolov in a time of 1 minute, 19.82 seconds. Alma Smith (1:32.19) and Samuel Dalton (1:42.98) were second and third.

Smith also won the 1-meter diving but was the only participant.

Tanner Nelson was the Blackhawks’ lone runner-up with a time of 5:37.58 in the 500-yard freestyle.
