Ministorage facility comes to West Plains

A local real estate mogul plans to construct a $6.2 million ministorage complex on the West Plains, according to city of Spokane documents.

Airway Heights Mini Storage will be built by Douglass Properties and feature a 4,000 square-foot, two-story office, 14 pre-engineered metal storage facilities and a 32,000-square-foot RV canopy for vehicle storage.

Storage buildings will reportedly range in size from just under 2,000 square feet to 16,000 square feet — for a total of nearly 96,000 square feet of space dedicated to storage.

According to a building permit application filed in Spokane, the project will span seven acres east of Airway Heights and north of Spokane International Airport, with an address on Campus Road. That land is currently vacant and zoned for light industrial use.

Owner Harlan Douglass has built several similar storage units in the area, most recently an 88,000-square-foot, $4 million complex in Hillyard.
