Lutheran Church

The congregation of Emmanuel Lutheran Church invites you to worship with us at 10:30 a.m. this Sunday, Dec. 17. You may watch our pastor’s sermons on YouTube at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Cheney. Christian education for older elementary through adults begins at 9 a.m.

Emmanuel’s last Advent mid-week 6 p.m. soup supper and 6:45 Holden Evening Prayer worship service concludes Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Mark your calendars for Dec. 24 and plan to worship with us at 10:30 a.m. for the Fourth Sunday in Advent and our traditional candlelight worship service at 7 p.m. All are welcome. Visitors expected.

All are welcome to visit Emmanuel’s Little Free Library and Free Community Pantry located at 639 Elm St. Donations of books, non-perishable food and personal care items are always accepted. Both are open to the community 24/7.

Community Church

A non-denominational Village Missions Church. We exist to exalt the Lord, to educate and edify the saints and evangelize the lost. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. with worship service at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome.

Our upcoming sermon will be on Isaiah 61:1-4, 8-11 entitled “Joy in Our Salvation, Now and Then” by Pastor Sean Carney. Our worship services combine contemporary choruses and traditional hymns.

Join us for Tuesday Women’s Bible study, Wednesday music practice, Thursday AWANA all at 6:30 p.m. and Friday morning men’s breakfast and Bible study at 7 a.m.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

A welcoming haven, nourishing all God’s people in body, mind and spirit.

Holy Eucharist at 11 a.m. Rev. Christine Soule will preach and preside. The Christmas Gift Outreach program will be on Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Wren Pierson Building. Thank you to all who gave generously.

Attention all college students. The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry, ELM, meets each Monday evening at 5 p.m. for dinner, study and worship, and invites all college students to join us. For more information contact Soule at 844-2553.

Choir practice will resume in January, continuing under the direction of Alexandra Rannow. Please come and sing with us.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at ll:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall.

United Methodist Church

Ponder the wonder of the manger as we celebrate the third Sunday of Advent this week at the United Methodist Church. Pastors Alissa Bertsch Johnson will be preaching and pastor Pat Sleeth will assist with worship. Prior to worship there is a multi-age Sunday school class at 9 a.m. as well as an adult class discussing the “The Book of Joy.”

Looking ahead to Christmas Eve there will be two services on Dec. 24 in addition to regular morning worship. A family-friendly candlelight service is at 4:30 p.m. and a second candlelight service with communion will be at 7 p.m. Please join us as we celebrate the birth of Jesus in our lives today.
