Carole Ray Bear

Carole Ray Bear (Johnston) born March 26, 1942, died peacefully in her sleep on Oct. 18, 2016. Carole bravely and strongly fought a courageous battle with severe dementia.

Carole was born in the Spokane area and raised at her mom and dad's "Rollie's Resort" on Badger Lake in Amber, Wash. Carole worked for the state of Washington division of child support for 37 years while married to Jack "Yogi" Bear and resided in Otis Orchards, Wash. where they enjoyed raising cattle, gardening, cooking, canning as well as spoiling their kids and grandkids.

Carole was preceded in death by her brother Ricky Johnston, her dad and mom Rolland and Kay Johnston, and her husband in 2009.

Carole is survived by her sister Rolleen Leslie, daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Rippee, the Rippee grandchildren, Sheldon, Jordan and wife Haley, Cameron and wife Nicole and great-grandson Carson, Miranda and her husband Clint Moquist and great-granddaughter Harper, Carole's son, Brian Anderson and wife Debbie and grandchildren Aly and her husband Cory Gibson and great-granddaughter Finley, Doug and Ole Anderson and her last love, best friend, partner and caretaker in her final years, Tom Peterson.

Carole's passion for spoiling and loving all of her kids, grandkids and cows as well as cooking, baking and canning are greatly missed.

The family asks that friends join them for a celebration of Carole's life at the Holiday Inn Express Cheney 111 W. Betz Road, Cheney, WA. on Oct. 27, 2016 from 3-5 p.m.
