Medical Lake FFA, 4-H youth compete, win at Junior Livestock Show of Spokane

The Jensen Memorial Youth Ranch in Medical Lake has released the names of 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) youth who competed and won awards in the 2016 Junior Livestock Show of Spokane, May 5-7.

Award winners for swine are listed below.

FFA Overall

Market Swine

Grand Champion: Sammie Jo Merriott, Reardan FFA, 257 pounds sold to Avista, Inland Power & Light and Jamie Holt for $4.50 per pound. Medium weight grand champion: Sammie Jo Merriott.

Heavy weight reserve champion: Bailee Perleberg.

4-H Swine Fitting and Showing

Intermediate grand champion: Zane Perleberg.

FFA Swine Fitting and Showing

Freshmen/Sophomore

Grand champion: Sammie Jo Merriott – Reardan.

Reserve champion: Shelby Holmes – Medical Lake.

Junior/Senior

Grand champion: Bailee Perleberg – Reardan.

Award winners for lamb are listed below.

Grand champion FFA: Caleb Heggemeier – Medical Lake.

Reserve champion: Caleb Heggemeier – Medical Lake.

4-H youth competing from the Jensen Memorial Youth Ranch were Colton Kjelland, Justin Lohr, Maverick Rasmussen, Kyle Thompson, Cassidy Fitzpatrick, Valery Bridges, Rian Pinkerton, Isaiah Giles, Kirsten Gilbert, Cheyenne Bridges, Shyanne Atwood and Timothy Bridges.

FFA Doeling grand champion/reserve champion: Emily Zunker.

FFA Goat Fitting and Showing.
