Cheney United Church of Christ

You are cordially invited to attend Cheney UCC services on Sunday, June 19, at 10 a.m. The sermon will be “Winning New Zealand,” presented by pastor David Krueger-Duncan

The text for the teaching will be Luke 8:4-8. A story of an ancestor will illustrate how our choices can impact others in ways we cannot anticipate. Special music will be provided by Maddie Gwinn. A coffee hour will follow in the church fellowship hall. It would be our pleasure to get to know you.

Cheney UCC is upgrading the church facilities to make the bathrooms accessible to people with disabilities. Construction is expected to take place in August and we hope to be finished in September. Our intent is to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable attending activities in our church. For information email

Several campers from Cheney UCC will be attending Camp N-Sid-Sen on Lake Coeur d’Alene the summer.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church

Mark your calendars for Emmanuel’s 2016 Vacation Bible School program scheduled for July 11 — 15. The theme this year is “Rooted. Imagine what will grow!” from Ephesians 3:17-19. Registration forms will be available soon on our website under the “Ministries” tab. This program is for children entering the first- through sixth-grade this fall. St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church will host children 3—5.

The Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist Campus Ministry will resume in September.

We are in the midst of creating a community garden at St. Paul’s consisting of flowers and vegetables in raised planter boxes at the church. Planting will begin in mid-June. Volunteers are welcome to help us in this endeavor.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Saturday morning at ll:30 a.m. in the parish hall.

United Methodist Church

Saturday morning the “Birthday Bunch” from the United Methodist Church will head to Xanny’s at Bunker’s Resort on Williams Lake. They will enjoy a no host breakfast at 9 a.m. to celebrate June birthdays.

Bring dad to church this Sunday morning at UMC. Pastor Alissa Bertsch Johnson will be speaking about being called to give based on the book, “The Call,” by Adam Hamilton. Associate pastor Pat Sleeth will assist with the 10 a.m. service. Immediately after worship please stay for “Pies for Guys” as we celebrate fathers, enjoy some homemade goodies and fellowship together. Sunday school classes are in recess for the summer.
