Anderson named to management post

Davenport Hotels in downtown Spokane recently announced the promotion of Cheney High School alumna Briana Anderson to the position of national sales manager.

Anderson will be handling all groups of 25 rooms and peak or higher times in the association, sporting events and corporate group markets that are based in the West, Midwest and Northeast region of the U.S.

“Briana (Anderson) brings a highly professional and comfortable persona to our Davenport team,” Barbara Seiler, area director of sales and catering said in a news release. “Her boundless enthusiasm and commitment to her customers, are key to future successes for our meeting planners, as they book larger and more complex programs in our recently expanded collection of luxury hotels.”

Prior to this, Anderson was a sales manager and wedding services manager for the chain that includes four local properties aligned with Marriott’s Autograph Collection, a portfolio of world-class, independent boutique and luxury hotels.

Friends for Children seeks volunteers

Friends for Children, a non-profit, charitable organization founded by members of the Medical Lake community is looking for volunteers.

The organization is dedicated to providing needy children with the opportunity to participate in community activities, sports, educational experiences (including college/technical school scholarships) and other recreational programs. It also provides support to families in case of a disaster or in need of help during the holidays.
